As part of the elective course track "Immunology in Research and Clinics"at Heidelberg University, we offer the two-part teaching module "Immunology and Complementary & Integrative Medicine" (in short ImmuCIM) for students of human medicine and our train4CIM fellows. In ImmuCIM-II selected methods of CIM are discussed in detail with regard to their molecular mode of action on the immune system.

Immune and Metabolic Mechanisms in Chronic Inflammatory Diseases and Autoimmunity

Immunological mechanisms underlying chronic inflammatory disease and autoimmune disease will be described with focus on metabolic changes of the immune cells. Furthermore, pharmacologic interventions and complementary therapies will be discussed, again with focus on metabolic changes of the (auto)immune cells.
